Bio: Gianfranco Terrones Morey (Peru, 1990) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Nanoscience Materials and Chemical Engineering program. His research interests include biosensors, nanomaterials, surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), and nanotechnology. He holds a degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonia Peruana in Iquitos, Peru. He gained valuable experience during his internship at the Research Laboratory for Synthesis and Characterization of Anti-Malaria Natural Products in the last year of career. Additionally, he worked in a Malaria-endemic zone in the Napo River in Peru focused on pharmacovigilance and exploring innovative approaches for the detection of the Plasmodium sp. parasite. Gianfranco's accomplishments include being awarded the URV master scholarship in 2017 and being selected as part of the Martí Franquès program for Ph.D. students in 2021.
