Bio: Vasso Skouridou received her B.Sc. (1998) and Ph.D. (2004) degrees in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (Greece). She worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Texas at Austin (USA) (2004-2007) and as a researcher at the University of California San Francisco (USA) (2007-2010). She joined the Interfibio Group in 2012. Her main research interests involve the development of aptamers against proteins and small molecules, characterization of DNA-protein and DNA-small molecule interactions, nucleic acid detection and development of rapid tests employing novel nanomaterials, paper-based assays and DNA binding proteins.
