Interfibio Students Showcase Innovative Research at XXVII TRANSFRONTIER MEETING ON SENSORS AND BIOSENSORS in France

A delegation of PhD students from Interfibio made significant contributions at the XXVII TRANSFRONTIER MEETING ON SENSORS AND BIOSENSORS, which took place in France on September 28th and 29th, 2023. This annual gathering aims to bring together researchers, educators, and students engaged in Research and Development in the fields of sensors and biosensors within the Euroregion spanning France and Spain, including Catalonia and Occitanie, along with surrounding areas.

Naga Pandurangi took the stage to present an oral communication titled 'Tetrodotoxin and PFOS Detection' on Thursday, September 28th, at 17:15. This presentation promises to delve into the cutting-edge realm of detecting marine toxins, showcasing the students' commitment to exploring innovative solutions.

On the following day, Friday, September 29th at 11:45, Christine Aubrey Justo shared insights into the 'Detection of Trichomonas vaginalis DNA using variable strategies combining isothermal DNA amplification with nucleic acid lateral flow assay.' This presentation reflects Interfibio's dedication to addressing critical health challenges through advanced detection methods.

In addition to the oral presentations, Ulises Guillermo Díaz and Shaira Jane Acosta participated in the poster session, showcasing their respective works:

  1. Marine toxin tetrodotoxin detection in pufferfish and shellfish by hybrid antibody-aptamer rapid test.
  2. Simultaneous selection of aptamers against Mycobacterium tuberculosis secreted antigens towards streamlined detection of tuberculosis.

While the XXVII TRANSFRONTIER MEETING ON SENSORS AND BIOSENSORS aims to cater to the entire scientific community, it places special emphasis on providing a platform for young researchers to gain valuable experience in disseminating their findings publicly. The event provides a unique opportunity for students to engage in discussions, seek feedback, and connect with fellow researchers in a relaxed and friendly environment.

Interfibio's participation in this prestigious event underscores its commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and research excellence among its students. As they contribute to the broader scientific dialogue, these young minds are poised to make a lasting impact in the dynamic field of sensors and biosensors.
