Interfibio's master and PhD students compete in the #Experimentathon

Interfibio's master and PhD students participated yesterday at the #Experimentathon organised by the HubExperimenta.

The Experimentathon challenges students to design a scientific game targeting kids to help them understand the importance of resusing water, in a moment in which it it estimated that 80% of the water treated in Europe is not reused.

Interfibio competed with two teams. The first team proposed the Water Hackers game where youngsters become detectives to find who has hacked a water treatment plant. In the process, they discover by experimenting the three types of water filtration. The second team proposed the construction of a dirty water tank including leaves, microplastics and others. With a manual air pump, the children have to pass the water through three filters to try to get clean water to water plants.

The Experimentathon has a double objective, on one hand, the development of a scientific game that can promote the experimentation of children and, on the other, the creation of a framework where university students can put into practice transversal skills such as teamwork, problem solving, effective communication, leadership, adaptability and creativity in the face of a stress panel of business experts and the Repte Experimenta.
