The ALFA test on TV

We are excited to share the TAC12 TV report aired on Com la Nit al Dia programme, where Dr. Christine Aubrey C. Justo and Dr. Ciara O' Sullivan discuss the development of ALFA (Aptamer-based Lateral Flow Assay) and its clinical validation with patients.

ALFA is a rapid, affordable, and reliable test for detecting Trichomonas vaginalis, the parasite responsible for trichomoniasis, one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide. This test provides results in just 15 minutes, maintaining the same reliability as traditional methods at a cost of less than one euro per test.

The research, published in Sensors & Diagnostics, is now receiving well-deserved media attention.
